At Co-op Academy Grove, Design and Technology is about more than just making things—it is about solving real-world problems. Using the engaging Kapow scheme of work, we bring the National Curriculum to life, empowering pupils to become resourceful, enterprising citizens, we aim to inspire a new generation of creative thinkers and makers. 

We cover a diverse range of disciplines, from mechanical and electrical systems to textiles, digital technology, and nutrition. However, our goal goes beyond technical skills. We want our pupils to develop the confidence to take risks and the ability to reflect critically on their work. We encourage our pupils to take risks, draft new concepts, and reflect on their creations. By building resilience and creativity, we are equipping them with the confidence to contribute to the future of design.By fostering an appreciation for how things work and how they can be improved, we are preparing our students to be the resourceful, creative problem-solvers of the future.
