Welcome from Mrs Robinson, Headteacher
I cannot believe how fast this half term is going – they say time flies when you are having fun. How are we in October already?
We were reminded of the season from our amazing Year 3s today, who led our harvest assembly. Thank you to all the parents who joined us to celebrate and to everyone who has provided a donation. All donations received are going towards our community shop, which will be opening very soon. If you do still have any donations you are able to share, please bring them into school on Monday. Thank you.
A huge thank you also goes to our amazing kitchen staff! Our new food service is proving to be a real hit, with meals served increasing to 162 on census day. The feedback from the children has been overwhelmingly positive, and it is wonderful to see them enjoying their lunches so much.
Attendance continues to be a priority for us. Please remember, as the upcoming dark nights loom and winter bugs arrive, we will always let you know if your child is too unwell to be in school. Please send them in and we can support them in school, administering Calpol, antibiotics, etc. Just speak to a member of staff who can support.
On Monday, we will be celebrating all of our amazing teachers for World Teachers' Day. We cannot thank them enough for their daily hard work and commitment. Without them Grove would not be Grove.
We also have our Maths 'Watch Me Learn' parent sessions on Thursday. Please do join us in school. Year 3 and 4 is 9–9:45am and Year 5 and 6 is 10–10:45am. More information is on Class Dojo or message your child's class teacher.
Finally, please follow the link here here (and scroll down to the bottom to view the PDF) or listen to the audio version of our October Screensafe newsletter to ensure you are more knowledgeable than your child online.
Thank you for your continued support – have a lovely weekend.
