Welcome from Mrs Robinson, Headteacher

Is it Friday again? What another amazing week the children have had at Grove!

Walking around the classrooms, I was so proud to see how hard everyone is working. The children have been thoroughly enjoying their learning – from exciting PE lessons to some brilliant creative writing. The productive energy in the school has been fantastic to see.

I had the privilege of leading our first Hot Chocolate Award of the year this week. It was an absolute delight to celebrate the children's success together. I hope next week's children are looking forward to receiving their reward.

Thank you for your patience as we set up Arbor as our new payment system. Dinner money should now be accessible, and you will be able to see the balance in your account. Before and after school club bookings are taking just a little longer to arrange, but please be assured this is a top priority for us, and we hope to have it resolved early next week.

Information regarding Parents' Evening and after school clubs was also sent out via Arbor this week. Please log on to your account to view these details and book your spots.

Please also review your social media permissions on Arbor. We would love to share more photos/videos of the children's learning, but to do this, we need your permission.

As always, thank you for your continued support!

At Co-op Academy Grove, we are incredibly proud of how hard our children work!

A HUGE well done to 6DT for hitting their Class Dojo target this week and earning themselves a non-uniform/PJ day! Seeing them all in their pyjamas certainly made me feel tired. I look forward to hearing about other class rewards as they are earned.

Free School Meal (FSM) entitlement

We are encouraging all parents and carers to check if their child is eligible for Free School Meals. Even if your child already receives universal free meals, you need to complete this to ensure their eligibility continues.

Checking for FSM entitlements can unlock extra funding - known as Pupil Premium - for our school to support your child with their learning, trips, and activities!

Checking only takes a minute. Please follow these simple steps online:

  1. Go to https://fsm.lgfl.net

  2. Click on Parents & Carers

  3. Click on Check eligibility now

  4. Select Stoke-on-Trent LA as the local authority, then select Co-op Academy Grove

Once complete, you will get an instant result. If you need any help filling this in, please pop into the school office and a member of the team will gladly assist you.

Attendance matters

What excitement our attendance trophy causes in assembly each week! The children eagerly await hearing their class's position. What an amazing achievement for both of our Year 3 classes to share the trophy with 100% attendance this week! I am very proud of them all.

I wonder who it will be next week?

Here is how we did last week:

  • Best Day's Attendance: Wednesday - 93.87% (First day back)

  • Whole School Weekly Attendance: 94.24%

  • Trust Leader board: We are currently in 15th place! Let's see if we can climb even higher next week.

  • Attendance Champions: Huge congratulations to 3BG and 3CBa for having the highest attendance this week with 100% followed closely by 6SJ at 97.3% - these classes have earned an extra playtime!

Every day counts – let's keep this momentum going!

90% attendance might seem high ...

But it actually equals 19 missed school days a year - which adds up to almost four whole weeks of lost learning.

FREE breakfast club

A quick reminder that our free breakfast club is open to all children from 7:50 am. There is no need to book – just arrive at the main gates.

Not hungry in the morning? No problem! Children are very welcome to just come along and use the time to socialise and play with their friends.
