Welcome from Mrs Robinson, Headteacher

Wow! What a fantastic start to the new school year. I could not have been prouder of the children (and staff!) since returning to school. The boys and girls look incredibly smart in our new school uniform. Thank you for supporting these changes.

A HUGE welcome to our new Year 3 children and families. We hope you have found the transition to our school smooth and everyone has settled in well.

Let's not forget our past pupils. We have been thinking about our Year 6 leavers this week as they started their journey to high school. We hope they have settled in well, too.

At Grove, we will be creating these newsletters on a weekly basis to celebrate our achievements for the week and provide key updates to you. If you would like to see any specific information in this newsletter, please let me know.

Also, please don't forget, we operate an open-door communication policy – staff are available on the gates daily and are also only a phone call away if you need anything. Our main communication channels are Arbor, our school website, and Class Dojo. Staff actively check Class Dojo (during working hours) and endeavour to reply swiftly. You should have access to messaging options for your child's class teacher and other key staff in school, such as the office, Mr Murphy (Safeguarding), Miss Cacia (SEND), Mrs Potts (Assistant Headteacher), and myself (Headteacher). Please, in the first instance, reach out to your child's class teacher and they will be happy to support.

Have a lovely weekend.

PE

At Co-op Academy Grove, we love to stay active! All classes have two PE lessons per week, and children should come to school wearing their PE kit on their designated PE days.

For Year 4 children, one of their weekly PE sessions will be swimming this year. Your child's class teacher will be in touch soon with more information regarding swimming.

Please see below for the days your child needs to wear their PE kit to school.

Site updates

Well, what a busy summer holiday it has been! We have been working hard to improve our school environment, which is incredibly exciting for all of us here at Grove.

I would like to thank Miss Comber, Mr Sykes and Mr Wrench for all of their hard work over the summer holidays, managing the on-site contractors. It really made it a smooth return for staff and children.

First up, have a look at ...

our newly refurbished toilets!

{item_alt_tag}

We’re so pleased to have refurbished our toilet facilities (it was long overdue!), creating a modern, welcoming space for our children.

The new toilets feature an open-plan shared washbasin area, while individual cubicles remain fully private. The layout provides a comfortable environment for pupils while supporting a safe, respectful and positive atmosphere for everyone.

As part of our safeguarding arrangements, CCTV is positioned in both the boys' and girls' toilets, within the shared washbasin areas only. There are no cameras inside the individual toilet cubicles or any other private areas.

We’re delighted with how well the children have adapted to the new facilities and are pleased to see them making good use of the new space.

Next up, our new catering signage and equipment!

We are thrilled to offer a brand-new dining experience for our children. Please follow the link here to view our new Caterlink menus on our website – there are so many amazing choices on offer every day!

Followed by our new entrance signage ...

They really do make our entrances stand out.

Lastly, our playground.

Although it might not look like much at the moment, we are so excited to have cleared the Blossom and Bloom area to make space for our brand-new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA)! We do not have an installation date just yet, but we will keep you updated as our playground development progresses.

But it doesn't stop there ...

Over the October half-term, we will be renovating an unused section of the school into a brand new intervention space, and we will be extending our sensory provision, by revamping our current space and adding an extra space. We can not wait!

Attendance matters

A new academic year – a fresh start!

Each week, we will share the attendance figures for every class and celebrate our weekly winners during assembly.

Last year, we were proud to finish 5th in the Trust and rank above the national average. Let's start as we mean to go on: aiming higher, improving our attendance even further, and climbing up the Trust leader board!

We are still pushing hard for that perfect 100% attendance day, and I have a feeling we can achieve it this year!

Did you know?

Being 5 minutes late every day equates to 3.5 days a year of lost learning!

Feedback Friday

We want to hear from you! Please spend a few moments completing our survey here.

Your feedback really does matter to us and helps us celebrate what's working and fix what isn't. Thank you so much for your continued support!
