A fond farewell ....

As I write this final newsletter entry on my very last day as Headteacher, my heart is full of gratitude and immense pride. Leading this extraordinary school community has been the greatest privilege of my career. To our incredible children: thank you for your endless smiles, kindness, and energy—you are the true heart of this school. To our dedicated staff and supportive parents and carers: thank you for your unwavering trust, partnership, and hard work over the years. Leaving a place that has meant so much to me is certainly bittersweet, but I step away knowing that our school's future is brighter than ever. Thank you for the unforgettable memories, and I wish each and every one of you all the very best for the future.

Mrs. Carrigan

Succeed Together

Our final recognition of the year goes to our wonderful Year 6 children. They have achieved so well in their SATs, producing the highest results Grove has ever had! Our maths attainment data is higher than the national average, and our reading, writing, and SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar) results are in line with the national average. This is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of both our children and our Year 6 staff. Well done and thank you to you all!

We would also like to recognise all of the children who received an end of year award yesterday. These awards were presented to children across all classes for demonstrating our Co-op values, for achievements in maths and English, and to acknowledge our dedicated School Council members. Well done to you all!

While we celebrate our Year 6 staff, we would also like to thank the entire staff team at Grove. It truly is a team effort, and they have worked exceptionally hard over the year to provide the very best for all the children at our school. Nothing would be possible without them. Please enjoy an amazing summer holiday!

Finally, a special thank you to Mrs Carrigan, our amazing Headteacher. You have brought so much love and laughter to Grove, and your success is your legacy. Thank you for everything. Enjoy your well deserved (early) retirement!

Important updates

We have an exciting update regarding our school meals! Starting this September, we will be moving to a new catering company. Please don't worry, as our amazing kitchen team staff are staying with us, so your children will still see their favourite familiar faces. You can read a warm welcome letter from our new providers by following this link: https://www.grove.coopacademies.co.uk/extra-curricular/letters

Action Required: So we can serve children when they return in September. We would really appreciate all parents/carers who have children with severe/complex allergy needs to urgently complete the form (paper copies can be collected from the office if you can not complete them online) as nutritionists need to create bespoke menus for their return. Thank you for your support.

Attendance matters

As we reach the end of the year, we have managed to creep back up to 5th place in the Trust with an overall attendance of 95.44%. While it's not quite our 96% target, we're not too far away, and it is looking likely to be higher than the national average. Well done Team Grove!

We look forward to seeing you all back at school on Wednesday, September 2nd at 8:20 am - start the year as you mean to go on! Let's aim for 100% attendance over the first three days.

Many children have also received bronze, silver, or gold attendance badges today. Please wear your highest badge with pride when you return in September. Well done to you all!

Water safety this summer

As we head into the summer holidays, please remember that rivers, lakes, canals and reservoirs can be dangerous, even during hot weather. We encourage all families to take care around open water and talk to children about staying safe. We hope everyone has a happy and safe summer break.

Have an amazing summer holiday!

See you all on Wednesday 2nd September, at 8.20am
