Well, what a hot week it has been! A huge thank you to all the children and staff for showing 'gumption' and perseverance this week in the heat. I hope they enjoyed the air-con sessions and ice-cold treats!

A big thanks again to Miss Comber for sourcing these for us so quickly, and to Mrs Potts and Mrs Mountenay for sorting the last minute ice cream! It has been so hot that even our freezer couldn't cope.

Let's hope for a cooler week in school next week!

Bump up days

Next week, on Wednesday 1st July and Thursday 2nd July, all children will be spending two days in their new classes meeting their new teachers.

From September, our classes will be:

Year 3: 3BG (Mrs Guest) and 3CBe (Miss Bailey). Miss Bailey is a new teacher joining Grove from September.
Year 4: 4GC (Miss Cartwright) and 4AM (Miss Moors). Miss Moors is a new teacher to Grove who will be starting with us in 4KE from Monday.
Year 5: 5PB (Mr Bloor), 5CC (Miss Clutton), and 5JBC (Mrs Beresford-Copestake).
Year 6: 6CB (Mrs Blues), 6DT (Mr Thompson), and 6SJ (Miss Johnson).

Mr Bloor will be the Year Leader for Year 3 and Year 5, and Mrs Blues will be the Year Leader for Year 4 and Year 6. Miss Wynne and Miss Killick will be our cover teachers.

On the first bump-up day, all teachers will message you on ClassDojo to introduce themselves.

We hope our Year 6 children have a great couple of days experiencing high school. Don't enjoy it too much though—we aren't ready to say goodbye just yet!

Attendance matters

Here is how we did last week:

Best Day's Attendance: Wednesday 95.35%
Whole School Weekly Attendance: 93.9% -
Trust Leaderboard: We are currently in 6th place! Let's see if we can climb even higher next week.
Attendance Champions: Huge congratulations to 5JBC for having the highest attendance with 99.1%, followed closely by 3JW at 98.3% - both classes have earned an extra playtime!
