Welcome from Co-op Academy Grove

We hope you’re enjoying reading our newsletter! Please let us know your thoughts using our Feedback Friday Form below - we welcome any suggestions you have for the newsletter moving forward, as well as for the school as a whole. Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us.

A reminder that our new Year 3 information evening takes place next Tuesday, 3:30pm–4:30pm. This is a great opportunity for parents, carers, and pupils to meet the staff and hear all of our key transition information. We look forward to seeing you!

We’d also like to wish a very happy Father's Day to all the 'marvellous males' who play such an important role in our children's lives. We hope you have a lovely day!

Finally, a quick uniform reminder: we’ve noticed a lot of children lately without their hair tied back. Please ensure that all long hair is fully tied up rather than half-up/half-down. Thank you so much for your support with this.

Also, as the weather warms up, we will keep an eye on temperatures and update you on any temporary uniform changes. Children are always welcome to remove their blazers and leave them on their chairs if they feel warm, but shirts and ties should continue to be worn.

Succeed Together

At Co-op Academy Grove, we are incredibly proud of how hard our children work!

A big shout-out to all our sporting superstars this week. We had 36 athletes representing our school at Northwood Stadium. They were incredible - some children achieved 1st place in their individual events. Well done all!

Our girls' swimming team were just as fantastic as our boys, coming 2nd overall. A big shout-out to Evie F (6SJ), Emily M (6AB), Amelia S (6CPo), Darcie S (6CPo), Imogen H-S (6AB), Poppie R (5PB), Arusha (5CC) and Emillia (4SK).

Also, thank you to our amazing mathematicians: Rozy (6DT), Keira (6CPo), Rhys (6AB) and Harry P-W (6AB), who competed at our Trust's Maths Olympics event. They came 1st in two out of four events! Wow!

Build update

Toilets

Senior leaders met with contractors on Thursday for a project update. We are delighted with how the plans are progressing and can't wait for the amazing new toilets to be ready for the children!

In honour of Mrs Carrigan's hard work to achieve these toilets, they will forever be known as the 'Carrigan Cubicles!'

Playground

We are also thrilled to announce that, thanks to the Co-op Academies Trust, we have successfully secured a bid to completely redevelop our school playground!

This incredible £250,000 project will feature a brand-new MUGA, trampolines, a scooter track, and exciting new play equipment and resources. Our wonderful School Council children played a huge part in helping us plan the new designs.

Work on the playground is set to begin during the summer holidays and will continue into the autumn term. We absolutely cannot wait to see it come to life!

Attendance matters

Come on Team Grove, we can do this! Let’s work together to get our numbers back up next week. We all know how much every single day matters to our children's learning.

Here is how we did last week:

  • Best Day's Attendance: Thursday 95.03%

  • Whole School Weekly Attendance: 94.1%

  • Trust Leaderboard: We are currently in 6th place! (Falling position!)

  • Attendance Champions: Huge congratulations to 6SJ for having the highest attendance this week, with Miss Cartwright’s class the highest achieving class in lower school - both classes have earned an extra playtime!

Did you know?

You can view your child's attendance on the Arbor app.

Are they meeting our school target of 96% or higher?

World of work

At Co-op Academy Grove, we love providing enriching activities for our children, and our World of Work week was a fantastic example! We hope the children have been just as excited to share their stories at home as they have been here at school.

We had so much wonderful support from volunteers – including our own staff, their family members, parents, and friends from the wider community. Your time and support mean the world to us, and the week wouldn't have been possible without you. Thank you!

Finally, massive congratulations to our successful candidates: our 6 new Senior Leaders and our 12 new Teaching Assistants. They will be shadowing staff in school next week. Welcome to the team!
